Despite my best intentions, it's been longer than I wanted since my last post. I have so many ideas for the blog, but actually doing them is proving harder than I thought. A combination of a cold followed by Matt being out of town for a few days hasn't helped. I am more than ready for life to return to normal!
I have plenty of motivation to post today, though- Carly is 1! Here's what she looked like this time last year...

I've found that I'm enjoying my time with Carly a bit more than I did when Claire was a baby- partly because I have some of idea of what I'm doing, and also because I know there won't be any more babies. I think what I've enjoyed most is seeing how much Carly adores Claire- all her biggest smiles and reactions are reserved for her. I sometimes think of how often we used to say that Claire was going to be an only child- look what we would have missed.

Happy Birthday, Carly! I also noticed I feel more relaxed about parenting #2. And definitely since I know I won't have another I am sure to try and enjoy it more.

Happy birthday to Carly!! She looks so much like Claire, don't you think?
I also felt better my second (and third) time around. The fact that colicky #1 made it (and so did I) made all the difference!
PS. I love that smile!
