CJ has been interested in the sign language alphabet since I found these posters at DLTK-Kids.com. I recently came across two lovely sign language books that I wanted to post about.
The Handmade Alphabet by Laura Rankin is filled with different hands of all shapes, sizes and colors doing each sign of the alphabet. Each hand is holding or is near an object starting with the letter featured on the page. That makes it an excellent alphabet book as well as a sign language book!
Another favorite we've been reading a lot lately is Handsigns by Kathleen Fain. It's similar to The Handmade Alphabet in that each page has the hand sign for that letter with a wonderful illustration. All of the pictures in this book are of animals, however, and they are a treat to look at.
If you're interested in flashcards, I found these at abcTeach.com. CJ has been into cutting lately, so I'm planning to print these and let her cut them up herself.
And because no post is complete without a picture (CJ has forgotten how to smile- this is as good as it gets these days)...
Gorgeous!!
The books look good too.

CJ would love the sign language sculpture tree in our neighborhood. I googled it and found these images: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theclubcreatures/2533954377/in/photostream/
This post is inspiring because I think now I will re-introduce sign language to Kiddo since I want to do baby signs with his brother when he gets a bit older.
Darling photo.

I love that picture! In fact it really reminds me of one I have of being under my big sister's arm when I was a newborn baby.
Ivo has learned a few ASL signs at preschool. I think he would really like those books.

Great photo of CJ and Rose:) I remember photos of me that looked like that, I was always very serious looking on school photos so one yearmy mum told me to 'show your teeth' - so I did! Result was similar to CJ:)

Can I just say I am so happy to be past the baby sign stage. ;) CJ looks so adorable in the photo. I hope all continues to be well with her transition. Rose continues to amaze me in her perfection. She is so alert in the photos. So cute.

As an uninterested bystander, I find your girls to be absolutely gorgeous. May my husband, Mr. Boompy, and I have a copy of the photo entitled "Face to Face" for our refrigerator. Mrs. G.
